Looking to buy real estate in Kensington
Living in Kensington
If there’s one thing I like about Kensington it’s about the concept of being a community. Kensington is not a city or a town per se. it is more like a census-designated placed under the jurisdiction of the Contra Costa County, California. Even though it has no formal government, it still has a police station, a fire station and medical services available for the residents of the city.
Kensington is one of the less populated communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. By the 2010 census, only about 5000 residents are living in the 2.5 square kilometers area. City is above Albany and Berkeley while El Cerrito is located on is north besides Tilden Regional Park and Wildcat Canyon Regional Park. As mentioned in the introduction, Kensington has no government and is run instead by two electoral boards. The first of the board is the Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District which supervises and manages the police force whiles the Kensington Fire District Board which runs the emergency medical services as well as the fire department.
Aside from these two boards, there is a citizen commission composed mostly of residents in the city which is the Kensington Municipal Advisory Board. The board’s functions include reviewing of development plans as well as sending recommendations for the Public Works department. Many of my clients also love the peace and order in the Kensington community. Since there are not much people in the community, it has very low crime rate. This can mean safety for you home, family and property. After all, Kensington has been one of the best communities to live in.
Kensington as a community also boasts shopping centers. There are two major shopping districts in Kensington. You can buy beautiful souvenir items in Arlington Avenue while you can buy the groceries in the Colusa Circle. Other than these two shopping districts there are no other places to buy something because most of the areas in Kensington are residential. If you love nature, then Kensington is another great place to live in. The community is surrounded by natural wild parks. A few minutes drive will already take you to the beautiful parks and woods such as the Tilden Regional Park. Again you’ll never run out of reasons to stay in Kensington.
Since Kensington has opened its doors to the world especially to the real estate business, it is best to contact a realtor like me. The concept of having a realtor maybe something new to you and I’m telling you now that getting a realtor has accompanying benefits. Aside from getting you great deals in purchasing your Kensington home, you could get a lot of options to choose from. I have discussed the importance and advantages of hiring a realtor below.
